Sam Kristoff

Sam is a computer engineer and maker located in Seattle, WA. Sam started making as a six year old, building bird houses with his father. His love of making quickly turned toward electronics, software, and automation which lead him to attend the University of Minnesota where he earned a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering and worked as a research assistant at the Center for Distributed Robotics. After graduating Sam joined National Instruments as part of the Engineering Leadership Program and spent time as a LabVIEW Embedded product support engineer, and a systems engineer in the academic group. He is currently an engineering manager at Digilent.

Sam is the founder of LabVIEW MakerHub, a community designed to enable makers to use LabVIEW, an industry standard graphical system design tool for hobby projects. Sam has created free, open source LabVIEW add-ons for Arduino, Raspberry PI, Xbox Kinect, Nest Thermostat, Phillips Hue Lights, XBMC / Kodi and other Maker friendly devices.
