I am working on a project where I am trying to interface the leap motion controller with an NI myRIO. What I had been hoping to do was to plug the leap into the USB port of the myRIO and interpret gestures from the leap motion on the myRIO, instead of on a computer. Is this interaction possible? I had thought these devices were compatible but the more I research, the more doubtful I am that the two can work together as we had hoped.

There is no Leap Motion driver for the NI Linux Real-Time operating system that runs on myRIO. Your best bet would be to use the Leap Motion on your PC and send controls to the myRIO using TCP/UDP/DataSockets or some other network communication protocol.
