LINX - NodeMCU ESP8266 device support

I am new to Arduino and I have just received my first two boards...UNO and NodeMCU. I wanted to try both LINX and Arduino IDE. Both boards are working in Arduino IDE, but I cannot seem to get the right settings in LINX firmware wizard for the NodeMCU. Uno works fine. It appeared someone may have had it working here...

Does anyone have instructions on how to get the NodeMCU working with LINX?

Hi bmiller,

I haven't setup the ESP8266 firmware to work in the LINX Firmware Wizard yet, but you can still build the firmware in the Arduino IDE and upload it to your NodeMCU.

I think that thread you linked to is probably a pretty good resource to get you started. You'll need to have an Arduino IDE downloaded and configured with the board suppport for the ESP8266/NodeMCU, then you should be able to load, compile, and upload the firmware referred to in that other thread to your NodeMCU board. After the firmware is uploaded you should be able to communicate with the NodeMCU using LINX via its IP address.

There's obviously quite a few details in there so give it a try and let me know where you have more questions.
