| - | | Overview = Sam is a computer engineer and maker located in Austin, TX. Sam started making as a six year old, building bird houses with his father. His love of making quickly turned toward electronics, software and automation which lead him to attend the University of Minnesota where he earned a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering and worked as a research assistant at the Center for Distributed Robotics. After graduating Sam joined National Instruments as part of the Engineering Leadership Program. He is currently a Staff Systems Engineer with a focus on academic and the maker movement. \\ \\ Sam is the founder of LabVIEW MakerHub, a community designed to enable makers to use LabVIEW, an industry standard graphical system design tool for hobby projects. Sam has created free, open source LabVIEW add-ons for Arduino, Raspberry PI, Xbox Kinect, Nest Thermostat, Phillips Hue Lights, XBMC / Kodi and much more. | ||
